“Let not the petty trials and tribulations of everyday existence blind you to the fact that love and harmony will destroy the last remnant of failure and suffering.”
~Edward Bach
Due to its glorious display of fragrant one inch white blossoms in early spring, the Cherry Plum tree is often grown as an ornamental tree. This small deciduous tree is native to western Asia and southeast Europe. As part of the Rosaceae family, the Cherry Plum is classified in the Rose family. It is one of the first trees to bloom in the UK and has become naturalized in parts of Australia and the United States. Some varieties have beautiful purple leaves. Its edible cherry-sized yellow to dark red fruit ripens in late summer and can be used to make jam, if birds don’t eat the fruit first.
Dr. Bach included Cherry Plum in the Fear category, specifically for fear of losing control, “of reason giving way, of doing fearful and dreaded things, not wished and known wrong, yet there comes the thought and impulse to do them.” – The Twelve Healers
