“The antidote for boredom is to take an active and lively interest in all around us, to study life throughout the whole day, to learn and learn and learn from our fellow-men and from the occurrences in life the Truth that lies behind all things, to lose ourselves in the art of gaining knowledge and experience, and to watch for opportunities when we my use such to the advantage of a fellow-traveller.”
~ Edward Bach
The Chestnut tree is large, growing up to 128 ft tall. It has been introduced and planted around the world. Encased in a spiky green case, the hard seed, which resembles a deer’s eye, is called a “buckeye” in the Americas. Chestnut tree flowers range from white to pink and grow in spectacular large clusters with 20-50 blossoms each. There are three Bach flower remedies made from the Chestnut tree – Chestnut Bud, Red Chestnut, and White Chestnut.
Of Chestnut Bud, Dr. Bach wrote, “For those who do not take full advantage of observation and experience, and who take a longer time than others to learn the lessons of daily life…Therefore, to their regret, they find themselves having to make the same error on different occasions when once would have been enough, or observation of others could have spared them even that one fault.”
– The Twelve Healers
