Bach Flower Remedies – Cerato

Species: Ceratostigma willmottiana

Group: Uncertainty

Keywords: Seeks advice and confirmation from others.

“Instability can be eradicated by the development of self-determination, by making up the mind and doing things with definiteness instead of wavering and hovering.”
~ Edward Bach

This ornamental shrub is native to western China and Tibet. In the early 1900s, a man named Ernest Wilson made several plant gathering exhibitions to China. During one of those trips, he sent Cerato seeds to a lady gardener named Ellen Willmott who grew them successfully in her garden in Essex. All Cerato plants grown in Great Briton during the time of Dr. Bach came from these original seeds. Today, Cerato is a beautiful low maintenance plant with beautiful blue flowers that blooms year-round in Florida and other warm climate gardens.

Of Cerato, Bach wrote, ” They should be wise teachers and instructors, but they seem to listen too much to other opinions, and be too easily influenced by outside circumstances.”

Emotional disharmony indicating Cerato:

  • Constantly seeks advice from others
  • Needs confirmation
  • Inner uncertainty
  • Lack of confidence in decision making

Positive character qualities of Cerato:

  • Quiet self assurance
  • Trusts own inner wisdom and intuition
  • Decisive
  • Confidence in decision making

Daily use of the Bach flowers provides gentle emotional support. Negative attitudes are transformed into positive virtues as the body’s self-curative potential strengthens emotional health and restores inner harmony.

And may we ever have gratitude in hearts that the great Creator in all His glory has placed the herbs in the field for our healing. ~ Edward Bach
