“One fear may be lost and forgotten in the presence of a greater fear, but the real cure of all fear is perfect courage.” ~ Edward Bach
Native to Europe, Asia, and northwest Africa, the European Aspen tree is related to the North American Aspen. They are distinguished by their leaves. The European Aspen leaves are more coarsely toothed. The essence of Aspen is released after simmering 6 inch specimens of the twig, buds, flowers, and leaves in fresh spring water for an hour. After cooling, the plum-colored liquid is filtered and an equal portion of brandy is added as a preservative. The mother tincture is stored in an amber glass bottle.
Trembling and quivering is characteristic of Aspen tree leaves. There is also a perceptible shaking in the trunk.
Of Aspen, Dr. Bach wrote, ” Vague unknown fears, for which there can be given no explanation, no reason. Yet the patient may be terrified of something terrible going to happen, he knows not what. These vague unexplainable fears may haunt by night or day. Sufferers are afraid to tell their trouble to others.” – The Twelve Healers
